Dental technology bid review is a tedious process that takes time and expertise. This process pinpoints sales strategies and helps clarify your decisions.  Arduous as it is, this step can save you thousands of dollars when purchasing dental technology and selecting the right dealer for your project.

Integrator A exceeded both B and C in experience and track record.  Talent level was better with more technicians per capita.

Integrator B was ranked second with similar experience as A but $4,500 more expensive with less technicians per capita.

Integrator C offered the least skill set and experience.  Their support charges were double both A and B with a 3 year contract commitment (others were month to month).  Interestingly, the certified bid for the hardware and installation appeared to be less expensive but ended up $14,559 more after the 3 year service commitment.

Which would you choose?  Deciding on price alone can be a costly mistake…skill level, experience, techs per capita & support costs are factors in the decision process.  At the end, total price is the amount you will pay over time.

BID REVIEW TIPS

  • Itemized equipment pricing is essential
  • Separate labor & installation costs from hardware pricing
  • Service/support warranty pricing & deductibles
  • Check references & experience level with dental technology
  • Always ask for a better price.
